Classic Wilkinson Vintage 60’s MWVS with staggered polepieces single coil pickups
These 60’s replica pickups offer amazing vintage warmth and tone. The set benefits from having a slightly hotter output than most standard Mex and SQ. pickups yet still provide vintage ‘ST’ bell-like tones with sweet quack in positions 2 and 4, a full, bright bridge setting and lovely nasal neck tones. The middle pickup is reverse wound and reverse polarity, so that it cancels the hum as a ‘humbucker’ when used as a set the neck / middle, middle / bridge combination in position 2 & 4 on a traditional 5 way switch.
The guitar strings will vibrate less the nearer they get to the bridge. Less movement mean less voltage created by the pickup and a noticeable drop in volume. To solve it, bridge pickup is slightly overwound to increase the output and balance the set.
