{"id":41614,"date":"2025-02-28T12:24:35","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T12:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clandestineguitars.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=41614"},"modified":"2025-11-12T23:04:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T22:04:12","slug":"purple-metallic","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/clandestineguitars.com\/en\/producto\/purple-metallic\/","title":{"rendered":"PURPLE METALLIC &#8211; SYMBOL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The color\u00a0<strong>PURPLE METALLIC &#8211; SYMBOL<\/strong>\u00a0is a very special color because it has not been a production line color for Fender and Gibson.<\/p>\n<p>Its exclusivity is due to its use in Custom <a href=\"https:\/\/clandestineguitars.com\/tienda\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"Tienda\">Shop<\/a> guitars, masterbuilders and limited edition guitars.<\/p>\n<p>This color has been a historical color for being used in\u00a0<strong>Prince\u2019s mythical guitar, his Symbol model.\u00a0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong>\u00a0as it is a metallic color, the last coat of color should not be sanded before starting the varnishing process.<\/p>\n<p>This color is available in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spray 400 ml.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bottle of 500 ml<\/strong>, which is recommended to be diluted with 10% solvent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The history of\u00a0 Purple Metallic<\/h2>\n<p>The purple finish is a very special colour because it has not been a production line colour for\u00a0<strong>Fender and Gibson.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Its exclusivity is due to its use in\u00a0<strong>Custom Shop guitars<\/strong>, masterbuilders and limited edition guitars.<\/p>\n<p>This colour has been a landmark colour for being used on Prince\u2019s legendary guitar, his Symbol model, made by luthier Jerry Auerswald.\u00a0 \u00a0 In 1993, Prince became embroiled in a contractual dispute with his record label, Warner Brothers, which sought to limit his prolific output to suit the pace of the marketing department. To reclaim his artistic independence, he changed his name to\u00a0<strong>\u201csymbol\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and began appearing at concerts with the word \u201cslave\u201d written on his face in protest against the industry.<\/p>\n<p>As part of his new identity as an artist formerly known as Prince, he commissioned instrument maker Jerry Auerswald to design and build this guitar in the shape of his eponymous symbol. Prince used variations and copies of this instrument in live performances, including the 2007 Super Bowl half-time show.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Our vintage-inspired colours<\/h2>\n<p>Nitorlack colours are based on the original\u00a0<strong>Fender and Gibson<\/strong>\u00a0colours. The creation of these colours is preceded by a great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department. Thanks to this, we have managed to faithfully recreate the tones of Fender and Gibson guitars from the 50\u2019s and 60\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>During those years up to the present day, it should be noted that the\u00a0<strong>colours of vintage guitars<\/strong>\u00a0have changed a lot over the years due to the ageing of the\u00a0<strong>nitrocellulose lacquer<\/strong>\u00a0and changes in the brand\u2019s own colours.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, two guitars finished in 1960 with fender colours may be totally different from each other or from a more modern
